When I become a future educator

This video is fascinating.  It is just great that this school has assigned an iPad for each student.   Teachers are seeing a lot of difference and improvement on their student's grades.  They say that iPads have been very effective and the title of the video is “School trades paper for iPads.”  It is very nice in the way that each student of this school was assigned an iPad.  Teachers have also seen immediate benefits in their students test scores as well.  I hope that one day when I become a teacher I have to same opportunity in my school as these teachers do, and my students have the same opportunity as these students do.

I adore this motivating video.  It demonstrates ten top reasons in why it is crucial to use technology in education like using iPads, computers etc.  The number one reason is because students love it.  The second reason using technology in the classroom engages the four key components to learning.  Number three is about professional development.  Number four is making life easier for teachers.  Number five is that it improves test score.  The sixth reason of using technology in the classroom is that it helps students with low attention spans for example I am becoming an ESL teacher it is very handy for me to use an ipad and important because I can show pictures for examples if they don’t understand a word.   Number seven is to learn from the experts.  Number eight is that it encourages homework.  Number nine is saves money. The last reason is that it removes obstacles.

This video stands fascinating to me.  Meanwhile I saw the title: Revolutionizing Education: iPad in South African Schools.  I then became even more curious to watch the video and I thought wow even in deprived countries, people are using ipads so I became very attracted in watching this video and I am very pleased to share this video with you.  This video is an overview of how iPads are being used to enhance learning, encourage engagement and motivate South African learners.

Learning a new language

I found this app very interesting into learning a new language in this case Hebrew.  It has a dictionary and you can also hear the pronunciation and the spelling of the language.  Since I love learning a new language I liked this app.  It is interesting how many apps for leaning are online.  Technology has improved and it has improved into learning videos, apps, a lot. If one can afford an Ipad it is very easy for that person to learn a new language, math lessons, reading a book and so many other things.

Best device in the world

This video is funny, I would like to share it with you guys.  Another thing that Ipads are great for is their battery.  I take my Ipad everywhere and the battery last so long and a phone would never last this long.  It is useful in learning because in case you forget to charge it you can still use it because it lasts so long.  For example, if teachers allow students to use an Ipad in the classroom it wouldn't be a problem if they forgot to charge it one day because without a doubt it can last for one day so the students can use it for learning, reading or doing math problems.  I liked this video especially in the beginning when this guy says, I love this device, I have the best device in the world!

Everyone uses an Ipad

  This video shows that an iPad can be a useful learning tool for all ages, and it  has  real life examples of how kids learn in school.  The teachers explain how an iPad helps them read, and how students that are visual learners benefit a lot from an iPad.  This video shows parents, students, teachers, neuroscientist etc.  It shows that everyone can use an Ipad and it is very helpful in every way.  People say it makes life easier and they use it everyday. 

 

Presenting myself online

It is very important to know that some people are different online than in person. For example, some people are very shy in person than they are online. Maybe this happens because they cant see people face to face but they are just able to have conversations. I would think that a lot of people are afraid to make eye contact with other people but when they have conversations on Facebook or online they know that you can't see them so they are not afraid of speaking. As for me I am the same person online and face to face. Sometimes I might feel better online because I know that, that person I am having a conversation with is not watching me so I can express myself better. For example in Facebook I have some cousins who say something and then I just think to myself and I know that if they were face to face with me they wouldn't say it the way they said it online.

This week was very interesting.  This week my little daughter learned to write her name on the ipad.  The app is "educreations."  I love this app because my daughter not only learned how to write her name but she is also learning the alphabet, for example writing the letters.  She also learned how to draw on this app.  I also had some fun with her drawing, teaching her how to write letters.  I think this app is very educational and makes children smarter.  Educreations turns our iPad into a recordable whiteboard.  It also creates a great video tutorial, and it is as simple as touching, tapping and talking. It is great for explaining math formulas as well, for example a math teacher can find it very helpful.  It adds commentary to photos, also creating an animated lesson would help.  I find this app very helpful.  This video shows us how kids can play, I liked it.

Using iPad to play games

It is very interesting because this week I used my iPad to play games.  I was glad because my daughter was also involved soon as she heard that I was using my iPad.   Now, I have to buy an iPad for her because she said to me, "Mom now I want an iPad like this when I grow a little older."  There is some things that an iPad can be used for and it is also an important tool in order for children to learn, because it is a tool that is "hands on."  The children can see in this case the game and respond to the game.  Learning type of games can be effective especially if they involve teamwork (where they can lean to share and work together), sales which would teach them math skills and prepare them for pre-school.  Technology in this case iPads, can help us in many ways.   It can help them learn faster than the past generation on how children where taught in the past.  This video shows how children can get the answers right.

The use of Ipad to learn about the world

This week I used my Ipad to look for places to travel.  I love traveling and most of my professors have said to me that if there is something you want to do make sure you travel a lot.  Since I am interested and want to teach students from other countries that want to learn English as a second language I am very interested to see their cultures and their countries.  I have promised myself that every year I want to travel somewhere new, new country in order to see the world.  I have already been to my country Albania and I travel often there.  Near there I have been to Greece (Athens), United Kingdom (London), France (Paris). I am also making plans to go to Dominican Republic this summer.  I love to see new countries and to travel so I used my Ipad in looking for what places I wanted to go this summer. Knowing about other countries and traveling to these countries will help me gain knowledge about the world and every country.  The knowledge about other countries will help how to teach my students in a effective way, in how they learn and what they think.  It will help me with my future dream of becoming a English Second Language Teacher.

My dreams of becoming a great teacher

I hope that one day in my classroom when I teach English Second Language learners I will be able to use iPads.  In fact, I hope that all my students get an Ipad just like we did in Dr. Sotillo's class and each student can use the ipad to use all semester 24/7.  I also hope to observe my student's blogs just like most of the teachers I know, require their students to have a blog everyday on what they do and what they study.   As teachers we need a place to put "stuff" so in order to keep track of my students I would create a central location and that would be having blogs.  I want each one of my students to have a blog as well as me.  I would also probably create a website where we as a class to learn.  Ipads will help English Second Language learners because they can see pictures of a word they cannot understand and so much more for them to learn.  Again, these are my dreams and I hope one day they became a reality.  

Ipad experience to the airport

Having an Ipad can indeed change everything.  This week my parents left to Albania and I had to take them to the airport.  I had my Ipad with me when we went to the airport and it was an excellent idea to take it with me because I was able to take some pictures of them before they left.  I was also able to play music for them on our way there.  I had to take my daughter with me and when we came back my daughter was able to play with activities on the Ipad.  She was able to learn a little math as well because on a word pad I created some exercises like, for example 1+1=2.   I was very happy because my daughter didn’t cry on the way to the airport and on my way coming back home.  So Ipad’s are very advantageous every way in learning.

Ipad to the park

This week was spring break and we had a week off from school.  It was nice to have a little break, but yet it was great having to use our Ipads at home.  I used my Ipad to listen to music mostly but also to try to catch up with work that I had to do for school.   I went to the park with my daughter and I had the Ipad with me, it was quiet a difference holding an Ipad rather than a lap top because Ipads are so much smaller and convenient.  I love it there is not much to say rather than I loving my Ipad!

Ipad experience

This week I used my Ipad to read a book.  Ipad in my case is a very useful tool because I didn't have to buy the book instead I just read it online.  It is great because I went to my cousin's house and I just took the Ipad with me and continued to read at her house, they were also amazed about IPads.  Now I am making everyone in my family buy Ipads because they see me use my Ipad everywhere and in many useful ways.  I also took notes while reading my book online, instead of having to write notes by hand.  It is just easier because I took my Ipad outside in my backyard and the weather has just been great, and while watching my daughter play outside with her toys I was reading my book online on my Ipad.  It is great owning an Ipad!

Greatest Invention- IPAD

Today, as usual, I used my favorite apple creation to date, the iPad. Not only is this invention great for roaming the internet, but it helps me manage classes, assignments, and my social life. I spend most of my time either taking care of my daughter, in school, or work. I barely have time to think! I now use the InClass app and it helps me put all the chaos in a manageable order. This is without a doubt one of my favorite and most convenient apps. 

Ipads are very useful

Ipads are incredible, and useful in every way.  This week I have used the ipad to study for my mid-terms mostly.  Instead of having to write all my notes and my study guides for the mid-terms in hand writing, I used my ipad to study for the mid-terms.  It is like carrying your notebook with you.   Everywhere I went I got the ipad with me.   Now, my sister is begging my parents to buy her an ipad because she is jealous that I have one.  My husband wants to buy an ipad for my daughter now as she knows how to use it because she has used my ipad.   I love it because it is just incredible and very accommodating.

My experience on Ipad

My ipad experience is getting better and better.  I use it mostly to take notes in most of my classes.   I use it at home, on campus.  At home it is great having an ipad because sometimes I show my parents my cousin's pictures on Facebook because my cousins live in Albania.  Sometimes I play music for them, Albanian music, they are very happy.  My parents are as exited as I am because it is wonderful what technology is doing for us.  My daughter is loving my ipad as well she knows how to use it as well.  She sometimes plays Dora the Explorer on youtube and she loves the ipad because it is such a small device but yet it does work so wonderful and it does great things.   Technology getting better and better which is great.  I hope that even when I become a teacher they allow my students to use ipads in class as they are useful in many ways in learning.  For example in one of the best ways it is helping me use in my classes and take notes, instead of having to carry my lap-top which is big and having to carry my books as well.  Ipad is very small and easy to carry everywhere I go.

Ipads are amazing

It is just a great experience having an Ipad.  It comes very handy in very different ways and different events.  I take my ipad in every class in campus.  The best thing that I love about my ipad is that everyone is jealous when they see me with my ipad around.  They all ask me how much did you buy your ipad? and especially when I tell them that I got it from a class that I took here in Montclair State University, you can see their face expression that they get even more jealous.  I always say you should take that class it is very interesting and you get to use, experience a new ipad, just like me.   Ipads are very useful especially in class I always carry it with me because it is very small and convenient to carry with me all the time.

My thoughts on IPAD's

I am very happy with my ipad.  I was very excited when I received my ipad.  I was curious to see how the ipad could benefit students; such as myself.  I have come to see that it is very helpful in many ways.  For example the App Store has education apps for chemistry modeling, brain models,graphing calculators etc.  Recording: which would be awesome for taking pictures of slides, diagrams, notes, and just generally anything the professor writes or shows on the board.  It is also very helpful in note taking, and getting richer notes and understandable instead of sometimes having to scribble my hand writing.  It is very easy for me to read my notes with my ipad.  It is also useful for the Acceptable in classrooms.  Currently, I am using my ipad  for most of my scheduling, tasks and to do's, email, etc.  Having an iPad out would be more like having a laptop or netbook out: acceptable.    It is helping me also for my research project because I am also researching the difference between the online class and in class learning.  I am very happy to have one, it is certainly  very helpful in so many ways.  This video shows exactly what I mean.
